R.I.P

My Mac is currently getting a check-up at the Mac store and we will soon find out if it's R.I.P.. Before Tony took it in, it was having multiple problems. I will be Macless for 5 days, so I'm using Tony's PC.

On the Hawaii front, Michael slept through the night twice because he was on the Hawaiian time zone. Oh it was glorious. However, I think he's back on California time because last night he was up at 1:00am and 5am. Not so bad.

Still waiting on the Hawaii pictures.

Vacation

We've returned from a wonderful seven day family vacation. Warmth, water and way too much food.

Michael did fantastically considering we had a 12 hour day with a layover. This was his first flight. When we landed, he shrieked with joy, when he saw all the new faces. By the end of the week, a good number of the waitresses and waiters were calling him by name.

Also, Michael's cough has turned more into a scream. I don't know why he tries so hard to get people's attention, people were squeezing his cheeks, playing peek-a-book, or talking to him in silly baby language everywhere we went.

The highlight of Michael's trip was the Polynesian dancers especially listening to the drums. Tony and I were surprised by his response. Silence! We later realized he was taking it all in. After, we went back to the hotel, he had so much energy. Definitely over-stimulated!

Unfortunately, IPhoto is on the fritz so pictures will have to follow.

Busy Sunday

Tony signing "more."

Please try not to be distracted by this horrible picture.  l was playing with the colors and lost the original photo.

Today our family attended an American Sign Language class for Michael.  All who attended had infants who could hear.   Research supports that children who learn to sign have accelerated language skills and less frustration before they can speak.

The instructor began the class by asking whether anyone one had started to sign with their infants and followed with, "Milk doesn't count."

Everyone chuckled because we all had introduced milk and that was it.  The class was enjoyable with the instructor teaching us over 50 signs using funny antedotes and children's songs.

This instructor also offers and leads a signing play group which Tony and I are considering.

We left feeling comfortable that we could begin introducing more signs to Michael.
Tony left saying, "I was impressed.  That was much better than I thought."
