Nana isn't a baby any more ...

Tonight Nana was walking down the hall and Tony said to Michael, "Nana will be running around with you soon and playing hide and go seek." You can tell Michael was reflecting on this because he paused and said, "Nana isn't a baby anymore." We hadn't thought about it, but realized Michael was right, Nana is a toddler now.

Daddy's Gift

About 1 month ago Tony said Nana would be walking by his birthday.
Well, she's walking.

These are fun pictures with Nana and her Dada.

Dear Oma

This weekend we visited Oma and Nono and when we were leaving Michael had a piece of paper and pen in his hand. He said, "I'm writing a letter to Oma," and proceeded while pretending to write, "dear Oma, have a happy day. Love, Michael, Nana, Mama, and Dada." Where does he come up with these things.

Below is a video of the kids playing.

Baby You Can Sing and Dance

Today I was in the other room laying Nana down for her nap when I heard the computer switch from Catholic Radio to salsa music followed by thumpety thumps. When I returned to the living room this is what I found.

A Date with Mama

I am one lucky mama! Every morning Tony lets me sleep in because Nana is still not sleeping through the night. Then he brings the kids in and I'm awaken by kisses and hugs. Then Tony gets ready for work while the children rest with me until I'm ready to get out of bed. The other morning when we were laying in bed Michael said, "Mama I am going to take you on a date and buy you a soda." I asked him, "Could you please buy me some kettle corn, too?" He responded, "Mama, you have to eat it slowly because you can choke." He is a funny kid!

Nana Girl

This little girl is a shaker and a mover, although you would never know it unless you spend some quality time with her. I have written this before, she reminds me of the singing frog that would only sing in private. Unlike Michael, she is not a performer. Michael at a young age would cough to get strangers attention. Nana is happiest with her family. She is signing especially if Michael teachers her. Her favorite signs are elephant and lizard. Michael is still her favorite person and she will chase him all day trying to give him kisses and hugs. He on the other hand, is not too happy with her affection. She loves climbing and sitting in things. She is much more physical than Michael ever was. She is still cruising, standing, and taking 1 or 2 steps, but we expect she'll be walking soon enough.

Funny boy

A week ago I injured my back so I haven't been able to pick Michael up. At nap time, I built a small step with a blanket. Then today after nap he told me, "No Mama it's not stable." I chuckle when he uses a word for the first time. It sounds so foreign yet so cute.

The other day Christianna was trying to ride his electric train and Michael told me, " Mama Nana has to get off. It's too dicy. " I just cracked up.

Then today Tony came home from work and Michael said to him, "You're my father." Tony and I just looked at each other. We were both wondering where he learned that. Funny boy!

Problem Solver

The other day I was trying to match different orphan socks, so I asked Tony if he could please bring me a very large basket of all the orphan socks. Michael, my big boy helper, immediately declared he wanted to get it for mama. Tony remarked , "It's too heavy." But stubborn Michael tried and tried. He was so frustrated that he was even crying, but even in the midst of his tears, he was thinking. Finally, he walked over to me with a huge smile. He found a solution. He had a small plastic tupperware where he scooped some socks from the heavy basket and then bought them over to me. He continued until the heavy container was empty. When he was finished, he gave a big smile. I think he was pretty proud of himself!

Not Nana

People everywhere tell us how much our kids look alike. Usually, I just smile and say, thanks. Then today I saw this picture and did a double take. It's Michael not Nana.
