I wish I could say we were out doing lots of fun things but truth be told we were locked up in the house all weekend because we were all sick. The worse being Nana, poor baby!
It all started around 11pm Saturday night when Tony came into the guest room, the past few weekends he's been sleeping in our room with Nana so I can get some sleep, and informed me Nana was throwing up.
We couldn't remember the protocol for vomiting babies, other than the fact it was brutal. Here it is:
Step 1. Every 30 minutes nurse Nana 4-5 minutes for 4 hours and if she can keep it down she should be ok to resume nursing as regular.
I knew it was going to be a long night, but I didn't know how long. Turned out, she couldn't hold the mama's milk so we had to go to step 2.
Step 2: Every 5 minutes give Nana 2 teaspoons of pedialyte for 4 hours. So, that's what we did.
After 4 hours I tried to nurse her again but she could not keep it down. Later when I tried to nurse her it just came up.
She's still sick but has only thrown up once today. It was a brutal night but worth it to keep Nana hydrated and out of the emergency room.
Michael's still not 100% but he's getting better. Hopefully everyone will be healthy again mid-week.
